BEACON

A connected home, working together.

A modular smart home platform designed to handle device communication, real-time state updates, and practical automation without fragile integrations.

My role covered backend and full-stack engineering: implementing Go services with MQTT messaging, connecting Zigbee-capable devices through Raspberry Pi, and delivering a React control layer for monitoring and scheduling.

Ecommerce Platform

An API-driven shopping experience.

A full-stack commerce application covering authentication, catalog management, and order handling, designed to make the shopping experience smooth and reliable.

My role covered backend development and frontend integration. I built the platform with Django and Django REST Framework, implemented core REST endpoints, and added JavaScript and AJAX interactions to keep key flows responsive.

Penny

A calmer view of everyday spending.

A personal expense tracker that brings transactions, monthly financial summaries, and category budgets into one place. Penny helps users see where their money goes and track spending against a plan.

I built the FastAPI backend and React/TypeScript dashboard, with SQLAlchemy persistence and integer-cent monetary storage for accurate calculations. A separate portfolio demo uses sample data stored in each visitor’s browser and works without a hosted API.

  • Implemented validated REST APIs for transaction management and monthly category budgets, with SQLite and PostgreSQL support.
  • Built spending visualizations, budget progress and overspending indicators, transaction search and filters, and CSV export.
  • Covered API calculations, demo data, desktop workflows, and mobile usability with 26 automated tests, and configured GitHub Actions checks.
